October 9, 2026
When it comes to horse riding, confidence and comfort go hand in hand with safety. Whether you’re schooling at home, enjoying regular training sessions or preparing for competition, choosing the right protective equipment is an important part of every rider’s kit.
Introducing the Karben Air5 Vest, available at Ingatestone Saddlery. Designed with performance-focused riders in mind, this innovative air vest combines rapid inflation technology with enhanced neck protection and a lightweight, adjustable design.
The Karben Air5 Vest has been developed using SPARK technology and is certified to the NF S72-800:2022 airbag vest safety standard.
Designed to inflate within just 0.2 seconds when the rider becomes separated from the horse, the vest provides strategically positioned airbag protection for the neck, chest, back, hips and upper body.
Its enlarged neck airbag is designed to provide additional cervical support, while integrated shock-absorbing foam at the front offers an extra layer of impact protection.
For riders looking for an additional level of protective equipment, the Air5 brings together innovative technology and thoughtful design in one practical riding essential.
Protective equipment needs to work with you, not against you. The Karben Air5 Vest features an adjustable internal waist belt, helping riders achieve a secure and comfortable fit over their riding clothes.
Its lightweight yet durable construction makes it suitable for both training and competition, allowing riders to focus on their performance and their partnership with their horse.
Other practical features include:
The vest is also supplied with an elasticated operating saddle strap and an Allen key, helping you get ready for use according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
Whether you spend your time developing your skills in the arena or preparing for your next competitive outing, the Karben Air5 Vest is designed to fit into an active riding routine.
Its combination of lightweight construction, adjustable fit and integrated airbag technology makes it an option worth considering for riders who prioritise protective equipment without wanting unnecessary restrictions on movement.
As with any air vest, correct fitting and use are essential. The Karben Air5 must be worn as the outermost layer of clothing, and the horse must be at least 120cm tall for correct airbag deployment. Always read the manufacturer’s instructions carefully before first use.
Please note that the CO₂ cartridge is sold separately, and only original Karben CO₂ air vest cartridges should be used.
Choosing the correct size is essential when selecting an air vest. The vest should fit comfortably over your riding clothes and provide the intended coverage when deployed, without being so long that it touches the saddle while riding.
At Ingatestone Saddlery, we offer fitting services for air vests, riding hats and body protectors in-store, seven days a week, with no appointment necessary. Our team can help you find the right fit and make your purchase with greater confidence.
If you’re looking to upgrade your riding equipment with advanced airbag technology and enhanced neck protection, the Karben Air5 Vest is well worth exploring.
