Tried & Tested To The Max!
I had the opportunity to try the new updated Ariat Terrain waterproof boots. I have an energetic dog who I enjoy long country walks with come rain or shine. I have been testing these boots for the last couple of weeks and here is my honest review.
I was super excited to receive delivery of these boots, they were packaged well and felt quite luxurious. On the inside of the box it explains to register your product for a free gift. I scanned the QR code that took me straight to the relevant link. There was a pop up that was distracting however, after a couple of attempts I manged to get access to the correct page. I inputted my personal details however, then struggled to proceed any further as the site required a United States address, therefore I decided to avoid continuing this which was a shame.
Trying Them On
At first I was a little apprehensive with the boots being a zip version and not laced. I have always opted for lace up boots in the past as I like to be able to wear them fairly tight so they feel secure. However, as soon as I put them on I knew I had nothing to worry about. The zip slides up firmly and easily; they felt nice and secure around my foot and ankle.
Out For Walks
I typically take my dog out walking for 1.5-2 hours a day, I was worried changing my boots could cause discomfort or blisters. However, I thought the best way to trial and test to the max was to wear them to the beach. My first impressions were these boots are fantastic! They are super comfortable and definitely waterproof! My feet remained dry and warm the entire time. It was a cold, damp day and usually I find my feet can get cold, so it was nice that they remained nice and toasty.
Fast Forward to the following day, The boots seemed fine on the short walk to the beach so I decided to just go for it and went on A country wood walk near home. I was out for 3 hours up and down hills, through mud and in streams. It’s safe to say I think these are my new favourite boots. They have a cushioning insole which I think made a massive difference as well as, a nice thick tread which worked brilliantly through the mud as it wouldn’t be a shock to usually end up on my bum on previous walks! However, my new boots kept me firmly on 2 feet.
Over the next couple of weeks, I have been using these boots day in day out, so it is fair to say I have got my monies worth. We have had cold days as well as some sunnier slightly warmer days coming into spring. My feet have been warm and dry on colder days, on warmer days my feet didn’t feel too hot or sweaty. I’m hoping I will be able to continue using them through the summer. The zip needs to be kept mud free and clean to make sure it continues to slide up and down with ease. I would also recommend using Ariat cleaner and leather conditioner. This can be found on the Ingatestone website using the link below:
Overall I have been super impressed with these boots. They are warm, very comfortable and the zip makes them really easy to slide on and off. My only criticism as a personal preference would be that I would like them to come slightly higher up the ankle, but all in all I highly recommend.
