In the packaging these look like any other riding tight and lets face it there are so many on the market at the moment, I just struggle to know which to pick. I always reach for my jodhpurs over riding tights as I prefer the support offered so I jumped at the chance to try this range as the fabrics and technology actually feel like they will support you and not feel like you are riding around in your tights!
I don’t know about you but I find getting the right riding tight size can be difficult. Too tight and you look like a stuffed sausage, too big and you are constantly pulling them up. Argh it’s so annoying when this happens! As a size 14 I tried on the large and they fit really well. I didn’t get any sense of dread when I put my foot in and pulled them up. They feel snug enough to stay put but not too tight and actually they are really flattering on.
The mesh panels at the side make these breeches feel nice and cool on your skin yet they have a re-assuring support that feels like you have been lightly wrapped. Ariat say they have been designed for muscle support and stability in the saddle – a bold statement but they deliver this extremely well, not only that it is delivered in style! Team this with the Ascent Long Sleeve Base Layer or Ascent Crew Neck Base Layer for the ultimate supportive outfit.
On to the phone pocket – game changer for me! I have lost count of the number of damaged breeches and tights I have from stuffing my normal sized phone in to the pocket to go riding! I hate having to wear a jacket just so I can take my phone with me. Well this problem is a thing of the past with two large and very snug phone pockets down each leg. They are a clever envelope design for security and when not in use, you wouldn’t even know they are there. Fitted my iphone 13 pro in with ease to give you an idea of size.
Machine wash on a cool cycle – I washed at 30 and then hung them to dry. Look like new out of the machine and dried really quickly.
With enough grip to keep you secure in the saddle, smooth seams and super supportive feel from the fabric I feel these are the best premium riding tights on the market at this time.
