I was intrigued to try this top as it looks like the ultimate base layer to wear for sport. Ariat say it is ‘like a smartwatch for your form, this cutting-edge base layer provides the cues you need to elevate your training rides and performance in the saddle. Engineered compression panels prompt correct riding posture while allowing maximum range of motion’. I went for a large as a size 14, on opening the top my first thought was how many panels this top has. It really looks like the panels have all been added for a purpose and to offer the most flattering lines when on.
Putting the Ascent Long Sleeve Base Layer on was nice and easy, the 1/4 zip opening at the front gives a nice easy neck opening and then once zipped up the top is snug and a nice height. The design of the collar allows full movement of your neck without rubbing under your chin. The mesh panels will keep you extremely cool in summer and in winter you can layer under a gilet or jacket. Also available for summer is the Ariat Ascent Crew Neck Base Layer.
For me what set this base layer as one to try is the grip strip at the hem. When tacking up this ensured the base layer did not ride up when reaching up to put my saddle on! This feature combined with the fabric and PosureTEK™ put this as a firm favourite when our on the yard and riding. Plus I love the logo on the sleeve – so sleek… Team this top with the Ascent Riding Tights for the ultimate supportive outfit.
Machine wash at 30, hang to dry which takes no time at all. Perfect for us equestrian’s.
